Ciliwung Riverbank in Kwitang Cleaned

As many as 50 joint personnel of urban village, Environment Sub-agency's Taskforce, Water Resource Sub-agency's Taskforce and Satpol PP of Central Jakarta together with TNI cleaned Ciliwung Riverbank at RW 03 of Kwitang Urban Village, Menteng, Friday (10/25).

Kwitang Urban Village Head, Rama Permana Bahri, said the community work held to commemorate the 79th TNI Anniversary was aimed to anticipate blockage of the Ciliwung River during rainy season.

He added the cleaning along one kilometer also involved caretakers of RT, RW, dasawisma, jumantik, LMK, FKDM and Karang Taruna.
Head of RW 03 Kwitang Urban Village, Ridwan, appreciated the cleaning run by the joint personnel. He admitted residents had difficulty to go down and clean the riverbank since the location is under the retaining wall.
"Hopefully similar activity can be carried routinely especially ahead of rainy season," he admitted.
